You Stagger, You Fall
By Gerald S. Sikazwe
Many people are stagnant, at same spots where they should not be, because of wavering visions and uncertainty of their potentials or even the potential of the future. They are uncertain of what they are capable of and of what the future holds for them. This has caused them to be nowhere close to their aspirations. They dream but when they awake, they fail to believe that they are more than capable of translating their dreams to reality. Simply put they stagger and so they fall!
They do not hold their visions in high esteem. They do not fully comprehend their strength to appreciate it. They let their weaknesses and fears to cloud their visions and eventually even their expectations. They have lost grip on their dreams and also on their reality, life merely rolls on in front of their eyes without them having control over it or any claims on what it carries along with it. They basically just watch life happen, even to them. They are just spectators with no voice in life.
This situation painted above is common-placed in human circles, and as such I expect that you may know someone who is in it or you are in it yourself. It is a frustrating patch in life, which to contend with is no rosy matter. Even so, it is a situation like no other with an expiry date, bound to come to an end. The catch about it, however, is that whether it lasts or quickly ends depends on you. You are the only one responsible for allowing it to drain you of hopeful aspirations and control over the affairs of your life or not.
The simple rule to be applied, in such trying moments of gross uncertainty and unsteadiness, is borrowed from the laws of our physical world, to be specific, the law of gravity. This rule states that if you stagger then falling is almost inevitable. Simply put if you do not stand firmly behind your beliefs, dreams and actions then you would fall and ultimately fail to progress in your endeavors. In life we are made to stagger by the bad (unsupportive) companies we often keep, the fears we shelter watered inside our minds, the failures of long ago days we still choose to hold on to and broadly by the negative thoughts about ourselves and the world around us which we entertain.
The moment we decide to part company from such friends who only see failure in us, rid our minds of the unreal things we fear, let go of the failure we have time immemorial held on to and instead hold tightly to any success even if small and finally when we stop entertaining negative thoughts and have them replaced with positive thoughts of ourselves and the world around us, then and then only will we attain the success we so badly dream of and yearn to achieve.
You stagger, you fall. You walk with certainty, you succeed.
Realize this and nothing will stop you from
taking the reins of your life back!
