Practice Surely Perfects

Image
By  Gerald S. Sikazwe Most people still think that success just happens. However that is not the case, see success emanates from the things we make a habit of doing. If you do something wrongly constantly, you will certainly succeed in doing that thing wrongly all the time. In the same fashion, if you develop a habit of doing a particular thing rightly, you will succeed at doing it that way. Success is a product of how we often reason and things  we often do. To succeed in something, we must make a habit of doing that thing. We must put in time and energy, only then will we yield success we seek. Practice surely makes perfect, even when it comes to success. Develop the habit of doing what you wish to succeed in constantly. There is no form of practice that does not pay, practice always perfects. Therefore, have a norm of doing what you desire to accomplish, constantly.

You Stagger, You Fall

By Gerald S. Sikazwe Many people are stagnant, at same spots where they should not be, because of wavering visions and uncertainty of their potentials or even the potential of the future. They are uncertain of what they are capable of and of what the future holds for them. This has caused them to be nowhere close to their aspirations. They dream but when they awake, they fail to believe that they are more than capable of translating their dreams to reality. Simply put they stagger and so they fall! They do not hold their visions in high esteem. They do not fully comprehend their strength to appreciate it. They let their weaknesses and fears to cloud their visions and eventually even their expectations. They have lost grip on their dreams and also on their reality, life merely rolls on in front of their eyes without them having control over it or any claims on what it carries along with it. They basically just watch life happen, even to them. They are just spectators with n...

Dream Today, Tomorrow Depends On It

By Gerald S. Sikazwe Life as you see it today, all that is in it, is a result of thoughts, ideas and wishes of people alive or long dead. It is aspirations that have shaped life and influenced how the world appears and how it is eventually seen. From a single man’s dream today the world has a telephone thus simplifying and improving communication in life. From a single man’s dream the radio was created, a type-writer was invented, a bulb was made, as are many other scientific, technological, sociological contributions that have been made to the world. In other words, it is dreams; ideas, wishes, thoughts that color life and shape it. We cannot overlook the important role dreams or aspirations have in life, neither can we over-emphasize it. Simply put, dreams are the blocks by which life is constructed and by which the world is designed. The future is dependent upon the nature of our dreams, whether they be change-inspiring dreams or whether they be faulty and stagnating drea...

Your Act, Your Life

By Gerald S. Sikazwe  “Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you to where you want to go, no one else.” - Les Brown No one is responsible for your happiness, your health or your success, you are. Quit thinking that there is someone else in whose hands these; your happiness, health and success rest. Truth is people can provide you with the best happiness instilling moments, health practitioners can offer you the best health advice and God can surely supply you with superb opportunities in which to succeed. However, if you do not act right on them, you will sadly remain unhappy, unhealthy and hopelessly unsuccessful. It is all up to you, whether to succeed or to fail, whether to rise up and try again once you have fallen or stay down rooted to your failures. It is not God’s responsibility, not your parents’, not your spouse’s, not your friends’ or your boss’s, but yours only. Realize that it all depends on you today and take full ...

Be Realistic, Success Is For The Realistic

By  Gerald S. Sikazwe View-points of situations usually vary. They are affected by so many factors such as emotions, beliefs and facts known about them. How we view situations we pass through or people we encounter if influenced by our values, beliefs, fears, hopes and our knowledge of the same. Sometimes we choose willingly or unwilling and consciously or unconsciously to see situations from only one view-point. We are subject in our look at things we come across or those that we happening. This is referred as subjectivity, where one cannot see the ‘whole picture’ but only limits himself or herself to what their background (values, beliefs, knowledge) and emotions allows them to see. This is not being realistic; it is being overly short sighted. Being realistic is being sharp sighted, seeing situations as what they really are (subtracting nothing but inclusive of all present sides). Our short sightedness does more harm to us than good; it makes us miss some other important ...

Be Determined, Success Is For The Determined

Image
By  Gerald S. Sikazwe The road to success is not easy because there so many hurdles along it. Success is made of down-hill movements, swift and rosy in nature and it also is made of up-hill movements that are rough and discouraging. To succeed therefore, resilience is highly required. If one lacks endurance and the 'press on, push on no matter what' mentality, failure is all they will ever achieve. Those hardships encountered when seeking for success are necessary and so we cannot avoid them. Thus we need to have firmness in our purpose, in our quest for success. To be successful, we must always be determined. Understand that success and failure all depends on us; therefore we are their major determining factor. If we do not attach the value due to success, and worse more embrace the giving up spirit no good will come our way. We shall fail, until we become it. Determination aids us in holding on firmly to our goals, our aspirations. It brightens our visions no matter...

You Fear, You Fail

By  Gerald S. Sikazwe   What is fear? Fear is an unpleasant feeling that comes as a result of sensing danger or thinking that you will be harmed if a certain course is pursued. Many authors have also referred to it as being an acronym for F alse E vidence A ppearing R eal. The common facts underlying in all definitions of fear are that it is an unpleasant feeling, it comes with thoughts of danger which are just a figment of our minds and that it is a hindrance to success. Many of us are where we are stagnant because we are afraid to change the order of our lives, we cannot dare try out something because we fear it will not work and people will mock us once we fail or that we are just unable to make it happen. Fear has us caged in dark worlds of hopelessness and dire uncertainty, we are basically scared even to think passed what we fear. The bad thing is that often times people, who have surrendered their lives to fear, do not even realize that they have done so. Fea...

Be Confident, Success Is For The Confident!

By  Gerald S. Sikazwe Confidence is a virtue that eases life if possessed  and  firmly tucked in one’s character. It pays off well as it enables those that have it to maneuver swiftly in most situations of life, mostly frightful ones.  However, if confidence is lacked it has a way of robbing people off their success in different situations. It is a must have, mostly if you are a sort of person who is not content with left-overs, one who seeks to realize his or her dreams. With confidence there is nothing that is impossible, all things can be done and all dreams can surely be realized. Now confidence like many virtues that are necessary to possess, it is not an external brewed virtue (as it has often been though of) but is an internally generated virtue. It is worked on by ourselves, as we interact with others and as we apply ourselves in different situations in our day-to-day life. It stems from the understanding that “we can” and that something “can be done.”...
